REPLY LIVERPOOL 13/14: Poetry in MotionBefore Gerrard’s slip, before ‘Crystanbul’ and before Suarez’s £75million switch to Spain, Brendan Rodgers brought Liverpool agonisingly close to their first ever Premier League title. After a difficult first season in charge at Anfield, Rodgers brought in Daniel Sturridge to play alongside the Uruguay international and Steven Gerrard subsequently dropped into a deep-lying midfield role. The result was phenomenal as the Reds almost romped to the title, with the high-pressing and high tempo style of play forcing opposition teams into relinquishing the ball.Bringing the tenacious Shinji Okazaki back to initiate the press would allow the likes of James Maddison and Youri Tielemans to create from deep. Expect to see Ben Chilwell and Ricardo Pereira be given the license to bomb forward at will and youngster Hamza Choudhury also given a chance. Gray and Ghezzal would be the attacking outlets for Rodgers in this formation 5 5 Liverpool news live: Klopp reveals when Minamino will play and issues injury update Liverpool’s swash-buckling style from 2013-14 could work wonders at Leicester Celtic won six trophies in two years playing this way under Rodgers On one hand, Celtic fans will be disappointed to hear their manager is leaving at such a crucial time while Leicester fans are likely to be thrilled by such an ambitious appointment. After being sacked by Liverpool in 2015, the Northern Irishman has rebuilt his reputation north of the border and reaffirmed Celtic’s status as Scotland’s biggest club. However, as Rangers boss Steven Gerrard pointed out, the lure of managing in the Premier League once again has proved to be too strong. And with Foxes fans’ becoming disillusioned with Puel’s negative style of play, the move seems like a perfect fit.‘LEAVING CELTIC FOR LEICESTER WOULD BE STEP UP FOR BRENDAN RODGERS’With his style of play the perfect blend of ‘Tiki-Taka’ and ‘Total Football’, Leicester fans can afford to get just a tad excited about the appointment of Rodgers. So just how could the former Chelsea and Reading coach change Leicester’s fortunes?Scroll down to see just how Leicester could look under the management of the 46-year-old. Michael B Jordan Isnt Interested In Meeting Michael Jordan

Michel B. Jordan once got star struck upon seeing Michael Jordan. (Catherine Steenkeste/Getty Images/Tim P. Whitby/Tim P. Whitby/Getty Images)Michael B. Jordan has always had fame tied to his name. Without the B, he’s easily confused for NBA great Michael Jordan. Though the two have never met, the “Black Panther” star currently has no interest in changing that anytime soon.“I never met Michael Jordan,” the actor said in the May issue of Men’s Health. “I never want to officially meet him until I’m at a point where he knows who I am and I know who he is. And it would be our mutual respect thing. Until then it would just be a ‘this guy has your name, ha ha.’ I don’t want that. So that pushes me to keep working too. These things motivate me.”Still, it’s not like Jordan hasn’t been close to having an official meeting with the sports icon. He told The Wall Street Journal in January that he saw the baller at NBA All-Star Weekend once and got star struck. And the person who had that effect on Jordan is part of something else that motivated the actor growing up.“I’m competitive. I want to compete in anything I do. That came from my name,” the star of the upcoming big screen adaptation of “Fahrenheit 451” said. “Growing up in sports and having a name like Michael Jordan and being teased, I had to compete. I couldn’t be the guy with the name and not be good at it. That carried over to everything. I’m like, I’ve got to be just as great if not greater than he was in his field.”While Jordan’s reasoning for not wanting to meet MJ just yet may be compelling to some, several Twitter users remained largely unimpressed.“Surprising considering they both chase after White Women,🙄”  a user said.“M’kay,” someone else simply tweeted.“Weird,” another said.“What?!?” someone more enthused exclaimed. read more

Quader says BNP has no chance to go to power normally

first_imgBangladesh Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader. File PhotoRuling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said the BNP has sensed that they have no scope to go to power normally. That is why they along with their fundamentalist ally are planning to topple the government, he added, reports BSS.“They (BNP) should keep in mind that it is not 2014, it is 2018. The people of the country will give befitting reply to the BNP if they want to create anarchy centering the forthcoming parliamentary polls,” he told newsmen after attending a mass-contact programme of AL in city’s Gabtoli area.Earlier, Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, distributed leaflets in the area on the fifth day of AL’s week-long mass contact programme for showcasing the development works by the government and highlighting acts of terrorism and violence of the BNP and its ally Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.He said the BNP is pursuing dirty politics over the health issue of its chief Khaleda Zia.Quader also said the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University is the right place for the treatment of Khaleda Zia.The court has also given the directive to this end, he said, adding the government is not doing any dirty politics on Khaleda Zia’s health issue. But, Quader said, the leaders of the BNP are indulged in nasty politics on Begum Zia’s treatment. The ruling party general secretary said, “I didn’t tell any party to make unity with us. I said that the left-leaning parties believe in the spirit of the liberation war and they respect father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”“I urged them to be united. We want unity against fundamentalist evil forces, against the dirty politics and against the enemies of the liberation war.”About the use Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Quader said his party wants the EVMs to be used in a limited scale in the upcoming national polls. AL also made a demand for using EVM to the election commission (EC), he added.last_img read more

Texas Leads Nation In Wind Energy

first_img Share CHRISTOPHER CONNELLY / KERATom Kiernan is the director of the American Wind Energy Association.Wind is now the top source of renewable power in the nation. The American Wind Energy Association bragged about that news Thursday morning in Arlington. Its latest report shows Texas leads the nation in wind power production. Listen to the KERA News story.Last year, the wind in the Lone Star State produced more than 20,000 megawatts of electricity.“That’s enough energy to power more than 5.7 million homes here in Texas, and also provide more than 25,000 jobs here in Texas,” said Tom Kiernan, who runs the wind energy trade group. Now, if renewable energy conjures images of hippies hugging trees, that’s a bit of an outdated image. The backdrop for the day’s news conference helped sell that message: It was the factory floor of the General Motors’ Arlington Assembly Plant. That factory produces 1,200 big SUVs every day. It’s in the middle of a $1.4 billion expansion, and by 2018, it’ll be run entirely on renewable energy, most of it from wind.CHRISTOPHER CONNELLY / KERA NEWSIn 2018, General Motors plans to run its entire Arlington Assembly Plant on renewable energy. The factory produces 1,200 SUVs every day.“It’s reliable, it’s affordable, it just makes good business sense,” Kiernan said. All of that has meant more jobs in the wind energy industry building and maintaining those soaring wind turbines – more than 100,000 nationwide. It’s also put money into rural communities: Wind energy companies paid some $60 million in land leases to Texas farmers last year.“Wind in Texas has gone from something that we would cuss every day, to now helping families to keep the ranch from one family to the next,” said Ken Becker, who heads economic development for the West Texas town of Sweetwater. With some $60 billion worth of new operations in the pipeline nationwide, wind power won’t be winding down any time soon.Copyright 2017 KERA-FM.
