No further action to be taken into Nigella Lawsons admission of drug

first_imgTHE METROPOLITAN POLICE have confirmed this afternoon that no further action will be taken into admissions of drug by celebrity chef Nigella Lawson.Lawson admitted during the trial of her two former assistants that she took cocaine with her late husband John Diamond.It had previously been speculated that Lawson would face a drug probe following the admission.In a statement, Metropolitan Police said that a specialist team had concluded that no further action would be taken.Factors included “the need for police action to be proportionate” and whether it would be in the public interest.Both assistants, Elisabetta and Francesca Grillo, were found not guilty of fraud in a trial overshadowed by revelations about the domestic life of Lawson and former husband Charles Saatchi.Read: Former assistants of Nigella Lawson acquitted of fraud >last_img read more
